In addition to consulting, David is a keynote speaker, presenting internationally to diverse audiences that have included Fortune 500 executives, small business owners, non-profit organization executives, boards of directors, entrepreneurs, students and others. His presentations run the gamut from cross-cultural business strategy to social media to web site management. David also provides customized workshops for corporations and associations.

David served several years on the faculty of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management and has guest lectured at the American University in Washington DC.

David is frequently quoted in the media on topics such as social media, web security, employee recruitment, international assignments, strategy and others. He has appeared in articles published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Dallas Morning News, Inc., The Hartford Courant, Wired, MSNBC, CNN, Monster.com, Workforce Management, Executive Update and many others.

Before launching his consulting business, David had an innovative career in the membership industry. In the 1990s he was the founding Director of the Center for International Assignment Management, a division of the Employee Relocation Council. This membership organization provided education and resources to Fortune 1000 executives managing the international business assignment process for their firms. This organization was also one of the very first to offer an entirely web-based set of member services, a key value for a global membership located in dozens of countries around the world.

David was subsequently the Director of Web and Knowledge Strategy for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, a professional society with over 120,000 members in the health care field. The team led by David won numerous industry awards for design, content and functionality, including an Aesculapius Award of Excellence for health care communication.

David is a long-term member and volunteer leader of ASAE and the Center for Association Leadership. He is a frequent presenter and author for ASAE, is a past chair of the Technology Section Council, and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the Journal of Association Leadership and the Associations Advance America Committee. The latter is ASAE’s premier program for promoting the value of associations in American society. David was awarded ASAE’s Certified Association Executive designation in 2001.

David has a Master of Arts in International Communication from American University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

David lives in Salisbury, Maryland, with his wife Jennifer and daughters Ella and Lily.
