C. David Gammel, CAE

C. David Gammel, CAE, is President of High Context Consulting, LLC. David helps associations and for-profit corporations to use the web and web-based technologies more effectively in achieving their overall goals.

David is a recognized leader in the membership industry and has worked and consulted with associations for over 13 years. He is a past Chairman of the ASAE and the Center for Association Leaderships’ Technology Section Council and has written about technology for publications such as Associations Now, Executive Update, Journal of Association Leadership, Association Publishing and several newsletters. David is a highly rated presenter at numerous industry events, including ASAE’s Annual Meeting, and is a faculty member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management. ASAE awarded David the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2002. David is also a founding member of the Association Data Standards Consortium, which is developing data standards for the membership industry.

David has been interviewed by Inc. magazine and quoted by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Wired, Monster.com, Workforce Management, Executive Update, Association Management and other publications.

Before launching his consulting business, David worked for two of the leading associations in the country, Worldwide ERC and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Staff teams led by David won numerous awards for excellence in web design, web-based services and content, including Best Association Web Site from Association Trends, an Aesculapius Award of Excellence for health care communications and 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Awards from the SNAP Excel Awards Program. David also led the development of an innovative intranet system at ASHA that included one of the earliest uses in the world of weblogs as an intra-organizational knowledge-sharing tool.

David has a Master of Arts in International Communication from American University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
